Alison Bowser
Alison Bowser (Acne and Rosacea the Complete Guide - Random House 2010) is the BMA award-winning author of ‘Acne at Your Fingertips’ (2003) published by Class (in her maiden name Dudley) and ex-chief Executive officer of the Acne Support Group, the only independent support group and UK registered charity for people with acne and rosacea in the world. Being CEO of this charity has given Alison over 18 years of working directly with patients and health professionals in the capacity of advisor and trainer. She has successfully organised a broad range of UK patient roadshows on the subjects of acne and rosacea and appeared on regional, national and international tv and radio networks. She has had a variety of papers published on both subjects and has been both guest speaker and visiting lecturer at a range of academic institutes around the UK.
She is currently a Commissioner for the Commission on Human Medicines and a member of the guidelines group on Medicines Concordance developed for NICE both of which relate to issues connected to medicines and medicine-taking behaviour. She has recently introduced a new training programme for Healthcare Professionals to enhance patient communication and engagement. She is a qualified Skin Camouflage Practitioner, trained Counselor and Life Coach.
