Charles Dick
Charles Dick - Down But Not Out: Allied Generalship and the failure to annihilate the German Army in 1944 became a research associate of the Soviet (later, Conflict) Studies Research Centre, the Army’s think-tank investigating all aspects of Soviet military and foreign policy endeavour in 1972. In 1983 he joined full time and in 1989 became head of the Centre, a post he held until 2005.
Amongst his other activities, Charles Dick played the enemy commander on many exercises and wargames and assisted in directing others. He also conducts battlefield tours and staff rides at all levels for the Army, the occupation that was the genesis of his book.
