Tony Cornish - The Voyages of Captain Cook: 101 Questions and Answers About the Explorer and His Three Great Scientific Expeditions (Conway, 2008) has written extensively on both education and history. After receiving his Master of Science degree he taught English Language for several years, during which time he co-authored Secretarial Contacts for Prentice Hall. He was then commissioned to author a series of four books, Central News, for OUP. He was later commissioned to write a series of town/county histories for the Francis Frith Book Company (Wiltshire, South Wales, Pembrokeshire, Swansea, and Monmouthshire) and then four titles for WH Smith (Haverfordwest, Llandudno, Rhyl and Aberystwyth). Combined with historical research and writing, he has a long-standing interest in all things maritime and has crewed for the Royal Harwich Yacht Club. He has been researching and writing about nautical stories for many years now. His speciality is uncovering little-known historical ‘stories’ which nevertheless have a potentially wide public appeal.
